War arises because of the changing relations of numerous variables--technological, psychic, social, and intellectual. There is no single cause of war. Peace is an equilibrium among many forces. Change in any particular force, trend, movement, or policy may at one time make for war, but under other conditions a similar change may make for peace. A state may at one time promote peace by armament, at another time by disarmament, at one time by insistence on its rights, at another time by a spirit conciliation. To estimate the probability of war at any time involves, therefore, an appraisal of the effect of current changes upon the complex of intergroup relationships throughout the world.

Causes of War
War can happen via many reasons whether it’s conflict between leaders or it’s simply you have an alliance with a country at war. War and conflict seem to be the answers to many small differences between sides, however, there is a distinct difference between the 2 conflicts between countries can be present without there being War. Wars in modern times seem to be over land and the leaders of the land, sometimes there is war between neighbouring countries over land they both claim or in other cases it is due to the leader of a land being a dictator and forcing his people into difficult situations as they apply new laws and the people revolute against that leader. As well as those causes there can be a civil war due to 2 opposing forces fighting for control of the country in order to lead it. Causes of war can be rising tension between countries for a long period of time to a dictator who rules with an iron fist.
Effects of war
Effects of war can be that many people were killed in the conflict as they were invaded and attacked . Families can be broken due to war enlisting in the war effort. Civilizations can be brought to their knees as many new rulers and dictators may come under power. People could be left homeless. The effect of war can be catastrophic and not always the effect intended after war in specific areas. War can extenuate any effect predicted for example if a country want rid of their dictator of a leader, in an attempt to revolute many of the civilians may be killed and the ruler may become harsher.
What does Hinduism teach about war
Hinduism has various views towards war and conflict there are certain rules in warfare according to Hinduism. The Rig Veda says:
“The warrior should not poison the tip of his arrow, he must not attack the sick or the old, a child, or a woman or from behind. These are sinful acts and lead to hell even if the warrior is the winner.”
This states that in war and conflict what must be done do otherwise cause no harm out of ill intentions and if so then thy can be punished for such acts. Similarly the Mahabharata states a moral dilemma when Arjuna is forced to battle his own family. There Krishna advises that “that it is sometimes necessary to fight a just war to overcome evil forces. Krishna reminds Arjuna that to fight for peace, justice and truth is to fulfil the law of God.”
Recent case of conflict in Hinduism
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi is most famously known for his revolution against the British in 1942 after years of protest all without a drop of blood spilt, he used many different Hindu teachings like Ahimsa and Satyagraha to aid him in his peaceful 400 km salt protest march. Hindus across India immediately joined in the peaceful protest and during all of the protests Gandhi was arrested many times in both South Africa and India until Gandhi called Quit India in 1942 again backed with ahimsa and Satyaagraha won over Britain and India gained independence. The impact of this was worldwide and inspired many people across the world including a young man called Martin Luther King Jr. The conflict was resolved when India gained independence. The impact of this in Hinduism taught many Hindus of different approaches to conflict and they know that if conflict and war was used in that circumstance by the Indians, then not only would their rule have gone on for longer, but thousands of people would have been killed.
