Social injustice
WHAT IS SOCIAL JUSTICE?
The term 'social justice' implies fairness and mutual obligation in society: that we are responsible for one another, and that we should ensure that all have equal chances to succeed in life. Every individual whom are situated in this planet, each and every one of them deserve the chances and opportunities equivalent to each other and without letting factors such as racism and sexism getting between this and preventing this from occurring. This could mean letting everyone participate in a game where everyone including the gay, black and Muslim are all able to collectively play together. The word ‘social’ tells us that this should qoccur not only in large terms such as countries but within our own communities as well, this could include a game in the playground or a party with your neighbours.
WHAT IS SOCIAL INJUSTICE
Social injustice is the act of not accepting someone with the fact that they are Hindu, Brown or any other aspect. It is a sort of discrimination towards a specific group due to knowledge through either social media or other sources which provides information which could be biased or information about one person of the kin and has then been used to stereotypically categorise them. This sort of discrimination could mean excluding a person from playing a specific game due to the fact that they are black and everyone that is playing has a white skin colour. This is an offence of both racism as well as social injustice. This act could effect the victim in various different social ways, this includes then being unsociable, depressed and many more.
ATTITUDES TOWARDS SOCIAL INJUSTICE IN HINDUISM
Caste system- the Hindu caste system was once used to help society run smoothly but was later on misinterpreted and people thought that some castes were better than others which led to the mistreatment of many Dalits (untouchables) in society.
It teaches that social injustice is wrong. In theory the Hindu religion teaches you to treat all beings equally, not only humans but also animals, therefore the theory of ahimsa. However, in practise many people use the caste system to judge others and mistreat them.
In the Bhagavad Gita, there is a quote from Brahman saying that all beings shall be created equal and they should treat each other equally.
